We’re looking for Support Volunteers who can offer practical and emotional support to people living with MND, as well as their families and carers.
As a Support Volunteer, you could help people find their way through the range of services and support available to them. This may include signposting them to relevant organisations, local services and sources of practical help, ensuring they know where to turn for further assistance.
Sometimes, simply taking the time to listen, offer reassurance and help someone feel less alone can make a real difference. You’ll help people access the support they need at what can be a challenging time.
You don’t need to be an expert in MND. Being a good listener, showing empathy and having a willingness to help are valuable qualities. Guidance and support will be provided, so you won’t be expected to manage situations on your own.
If you would like to find out more, please contact Gary Birkenhead, Community Support Co-ordinator gary.birkenhead@mndassociation.org or complete this enquiry form – Volunteering Enquiry Form | MND Association
