Formby High School raises an amazing £728 for MND

On 17th April Formby High School held a Fundraising event in aid of MND Association.

The school have an annual Teachers v Pupils (Year 11) penalty shoot out in memory of Kevin Williams, a pupil at Formby High who died at Hillsborough. This year they decided to raise funds for a charity and MND was suggested.

The pupils narrowly won the trophy this year and an amazing £728.77 plus was raised through raffles and donations.

After the event the LFC foundation did their presentation “The Real Truth Legacy”, an initiative dedicated to educating young people about the events at Hillsborough on 15 April 1989 to the pupils. Also present for this presentation was Ian Byrne, MP for West Derby, who is also Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for MND. Ian spoke to the pupils about his personal experience at Hillsborough.

We would like to thank Sam Quayle Geography Teacher who organised and co ordinated the day.
